A Brooklyn Gypsies live performance is a sonic/ visual journey through the deserts of the Middle east, Morocco and Andalucía Spain emerging into the dancehalls of Jamaica and Brooklyn NYC. Tracks off their debut album “Sin Fronteras” as well as the follow up EP “Desobediencia” showcase live vocals, bassy electronic synths, arabic percussion, sultry Oud taksims & brassy horn lines. “Sin Fronteras means without borders in Spanish and is a message we strongly believe in, especially within today’s climate of social injustice worldwide.

Musical Journey
Born out of a shared love for the sounds of the world, BK Gypsies formed in 2012 within New York City’s world music scene releasing our debut album on Wonderwheel Recordings in 2015. Each member brings their own unique background—urban rhythms, nomadic melodies, and gypsy flair—creating a vibrant mosaic of musical influences.
Our creative process is all about collaboration and curiosity. Whether we’re experimenting with traditional instruments or blending modern beats, we chase that spark of inspiration that comes from mixing cultures and genres. Every session is an adventure, and no two songs are ever the same.
At the heart of it all is a vision: to connect people through the universal language of music. We want our fusion style to move you—whether you’re dancing at a live performance or discovering us online. Our journey is ongoing, fueled by passion, open minds, and the desire to break down musical boundaries.
